Here is my latest post on Drunk Cyclist.
I feel like total shit, have no energy and all I want to do is sleep. I haven't done jack shit all week. I took 3 days off the bike.
I coughed up some nasty shit this morning that made me puke bright yellow bile and I still got on that fucking trainer and rode for 80 minutes. A Coach Troy time trial DVD.
Ugh.
Seriously, I am so sick of the cold and I am sick of winter. It's 24 outside right now. March is next week. Can we please speed up spring a little? At least the latest winter storm is not headed here. Good luck east coasters.
What is worse in your opinion? Training for a marathon in the snow and ice, or training for a long ride indoors? I'm going to have to go with the later. I'll be so happy when I can ride outside everyday. And not fucking freeze to death.
I really miss swimming and running.
But I love my bikes.
*** Updated - oh fuck, they just said 3-6 inches of snow for us tonight.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I with you....COME ON SPRING already!!!
Bike is my first choice, then running, and last swimming. Funny how that has changed over the last year.
GET BETTER girl. It could nto have been an easy training ride today BUT you did it!!!
I f*king hate being out running in the winter and as for marathon training in the winter, it has totally kicked the sh*t out of me over the last few years...
I'm totally stoked about cycling this year...I've got two 100K++ rides already booked and a bunch of training rides with "stay overs" and ride back...Whoot!!
Riding in the summer is no picknic here either. We get stuck riding indoors in the winter and then in the summer it is 100 degrees after work. All in all I would rather ride in the cold or the heat than ride the trainer. I did 70 min last night in doors and I wanted to smash my seat with a hammer and blow up my trainer.
I am one whiney Mo Fo today.
As much as I'll miss the atmosphere of the Boston Marathon this year, I have not missed doing all the training in the cold and snow.
I can soooo relate! I hate this stinkin weather!!
Me again,
Hope you feel better soon Judi, it isn't fun when you feel like crap...and sorry to read about your weather update...I concur aaaaaahhhhh!!!
Message to all you East Coasters and Midwesterners. Ya'll may brag about your big houses and big vacations. I live in a 1300 foot 1/2 a million dollar home in the Bay area. But you know what? I may die poor...But at least I will die WARM :)
Charlie C
You got to be kidding about that forecast . OMG That SUCKS , O and get better !
Charlie can suck it.
I say that in the sweetest way.
Fir real...who pissed off the snow gods out here? we're all getting sick because we're kept indoors where the germs just breed. 'course, they can't live outside in the cold.
training indoors for a long outdoor ride is faar worse!!! and it doesn't really prep too well for actual riding outside in the elements - wind, hills, cornering, etc.
Chillax my friends. As the doc said about the kidney stone this too shall pass. The process might hurt a bit.
Sunny and warm with tailwinds just around the corner. Honest.
Long ride indoors by far!!!! Even a trainer freak like me cringes when my coach has anything over 35 miles on the trainer.
I think I know you well enough to tease you and let you know I rode 26 miles outside yesterday and actually had to shed my jacket because, *get this* I was too warm. ;)
You just need to move to Florida. It's cold - but no snow :) It just blows my mind how long you spend on the trainer - that is so awesome. One hour max for me - then I'm off!
Yeah, I'm pretty pumped for IMFL. Ok, not pretty, VERY VERY pumped :)
If it is rainy, snowy or really cold, I just do not ride now. And man, that is so fucking nice! I love to ride, but I also enjoy just chillin'! This morning I am going to cook up some eggs, drink some coffee and watch a movie! FTW!
